Recognizing the importance that all citizens have the right to receive equal treatment in the provision of all services including financial assistance and social services without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, and physical, mental, or emotional disability, the following policies have been adopted to protect those rights:
- Equal Opportunity Policy - No otherwise qualified applicant for services or client shall be excluded from participation, be denied benefits, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination in any manner on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, or physical, mental, or emotional disability. This Policy covers eligibility for and access to service delivery and treatment in all of our health and human services programs and activities.
- Civil Rights Policy - All service delivery complaints which allege discrimination in one or more areas of civil rights shall be referred to the Office for Equal Opportunity at the Minnesota Department of Human Services for resolution. The Civil Rights Complaint Resolution Procedure referral form will be used by Agency staff and clients to complete all referrals to the Department of Human Services. Further, this referral form will satisfy Agency requirements to notify the Department of Human Services in writing of all service delivery discrimination complaints.
