As of January 1st, 2017, the Assessor and the Planning and Zoning offices have combined to become the Morrison County Land Services Department.  The head of the Land Services Department is Amy Kowalzek and she oversees both the Assessor and Planning and Zoning Offices.
The Planning and Zoning Department administers county wide land use controls that guide property development within the unincorporated areas of the county.  The staff administers and enforces state and local ordinances which govern shoreland, floodplain, on-site septic systems (SSTS), subdivisions, feedlots and the Mississippi Headwaters Ordinance. The department also provides staff support for the county Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment.        
Our Mission
To provide long range planning for land and water resource management in the County. The Planning and Zoning Department provides information about land and water resource topics to landowners, businesses, developers, residents, youth groups, lake associations, sportsmen clubs and the general public to help them better manage the resources on their land.
