Steps for Recording Documents

  1. Review the document for completeness and accuracy to insure that it meets the requirements according to Minnesota Statute.
  2. Verify that the correct fees have been submitted for mortgage registration tax, deed tax, and recording fees.
  3. Document assigned a sequential number, recording date and time.
  4. Index by Grantor/Grantee & various other fields.
  5. Index according to legal description.
  6. Verify indexing.
  7. Scan the document and quality check the optical image.
  8. Prepare documents to be returned to presenter.
