The Sustainable Forest Incentive Act (SFIA) program has been around for a while and is now getting more attention as land-owners with forested land must remove their non-productive forested land. The link below detail the requirements and qualifications to be in SFIA.
A relatively new CLASSIFICATION introduced by the legislation is the 2c Managed Forest Land classification. It offers a class tax rate of .65% and is a good program for land owners with forested land, who are not able to maintain the agricultural homestead classification.
