Green Acres and Agricultural Programs

There have been changes to the Green Acres program and there have been additions of new land classifications.  In this section there are links to Department of Revenue fact sheets that help clarify some of the programs and classifications.

The Sustainable Forest Incentive Act (SFIA) program has been around for a while and is now getting more attention as land-owners with forested land must remove their non-productive forested land.  The link below detail the requirements and qualifications to be in SFIA.

Sustainable Forest Incentive Act

A relatively new CLASSIFICATION introduced by the legislation is the 2c Managed Forest Land classification.  It offers a class tax rate of .65% and is a good program for land owners with forested land, who are not able to maintain the agricultural homestead classification.  To learn more about this classification, click below.
