The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 5-17-2022 at approximately 2:58 pm, their office received a report of an elderly man that was trapped in the water at a property located on 98th Street, approximately seven miles south of Hillman, MN in Lakin Township.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 86-year-old Jerome Micholski of Hillman, MN was driving his side-by-side on his own property in a pasture area. The side-by-side slid into a creek that goes through the pasture and rolled. Micholski was pinned under the side-by-side but was able to keep his head above water until emergency personnel arrived. Micholski was transported to St. Cloud Hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance with unknown injuries.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office credits the quick actions taken by the emergency responders. Because of their heroic actions, Micholski survived.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the MN DNR, MLMB First Response Team and Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
